Studio Theatre's COVID-19 Policy

January 25, 2022

Studio Theatre will continue to follow NYS Law in regards to the mask mandate enacted by Governor Hochul last month.
A state judge struck down New York State's Mask Mandate on Monday, ruling the governor and state Department of Health did not have the authority to enact such a mandate without approval from the legislature.

Nassau County Supreme Court Judge Thomas Rademaker said because New York was no longer under a state of emergency when the mask mandate was announced, the governor and health commissioner did not have the additional authority to order such a mandate, adding the mandate is now unenforceable.

As such, the wearing of masks inside any Studio Theatre location will now be optional, and at the discretion of the parents.
If there is any change to the current judicial order, or law, we will be guided accordingly.
If you have any questions regarding our decision, please contact me directly at

  • Studio Theatre, in keeping with CDC Guidelines (Updated 10/25/2021) "Everyone 2 years of age or older who is not fully vaccinated should wear a mask in indoor public places"

  • Studio Theatre requires that ALL performers submit proof of vaccination prior to rehearsals beginning, and are permitted to remove face coverings during performances.

  • Patrons will find ample Hand Sanitizer stations for increased protection, and masks will be provided upon request.

  • Studio Theatre has contracted with Imperial Cleaning Services for DAILY cleaning services at both of our theatres. All surfaces are cleaned and disinfected.

  • Additionally, we have elected to apply a special antimicrobial protection formula (Imperial Shield) every 90 days for enhanced protection against harmful bacteria, mold, viruses, and other deadly pathogens. You may learn more about that process here.
